Guide for choose a good profile picture

You must provide a digital version of potraite picture for PEDMIS.This picture will be used as your profile picture, insert to University ID card and photo album of your batch

Photo Basics

Submit a color photo, taken in last 6 months.
Use a clear image of your face. Do not use filters commonly used on social media.
Photographs should be taken in a studio. Photos from mobile devices or selfies are not permitted
Take off your eyeglasses for your photo.
Use a plain white or off-white background.
Save as your photo in JPG or PNG format, Any other image formats are not supported. The photo should be 35mm x 45mm in size (Sri Lanka Passport Size)

Photo is clear and in color, reproduces skin tones accurately, and is properly exposed with no shadows

Photo is sharp without any visible pixels or printer dots. Photo should not be exceeded the file size of 1mb and not less than 256kb

Background is cropped out using a photo retouching tool, altering the outline of the head, face, and neck. are unacceptable.
Take your photo in front of a white or off-white background instead of cropping out the background.

You may not wear hats or head coverings, except for religious or medical purposes.

Resolution and Quality

Submit a high resolution photo that is not blurry, grainy, or pixelated.
Do not digitally change the photo.
You cannot submit a damaged photo with holes, creases, or smudges.
The correct size of your photo is: 35mm x 45mm (Sri Lanka Passport Size)
Photo should not be exceeded the file size of 1mb and not less than 256kb
Photo should be uploaded in JPG or PNG format any other image formats are not acceptable.

Pose and Expression

Have a neutral facial expression or a natural smile, with both eyes open.
Face the camera directly with full face in view.

Attire

You cannot wear glasses if you are not worn every day
Colorized glassed are totaly unacceptable
Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis.
You cannot wear a uniform, clothing that looks like a uniform, or camouflage attire.
You cannot wear a hat or head covering otherwise:

If you wear a hat or head covering for religious purposes or part of traditional and worn continuously in public
If you wear a hat or head covering for medical purposes or head covering in your photo is used daily for medical purposes.
Your full face must be visible and your hat or head covering cannot cast shadows or cover up part of your face.

You cannot wear headphones or wireless hands-free devices.
You can wear jewelry and keep on your facial piercings as long as they do not hide your face. Permanent tattoos are acceptable as well.
